If you haven’t installed Server 2012 R2, you aren’t missing much. Its just like any other Windows installation. If you’re inclined to actually watch the process I’ve uploaded a video .
Once this step is done you can continue on to: Setting up MDT
After you have installed Windows Server 2012 R2, there are only two necessary files in order for us to get MDT up and running.
I’ve uploaded a quick video on how to take care of this step.
Once this step is done you’ll have Deployment Workbench available in the menu. Then we can move on to setting up your Deployment Share from within the Deployment Workbench.
I’ve played around with various imaging systems in the past including Ghost, Clonezilla, and Fog. We have recently been implementing Microsoft’s Deployment Technologies (MDT). I figured the best way to actually remember and learn about MDT is to write about. A wonderful new addition to my family, work, and school has me pretty occupied. This is why I have decided to divide these blog postings into manageable chunks. I will be updating this main post with links to the actual meat of content.
